ABOUT MAXIMILIAN
From southwest Germany, Maximilian is the first in his family to attend university. Apart from a fondness for Maultaschen and a dose of working-class pride, his upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for the opportunities he was given. Now he wants to pay it forward by helping others realize their ambitions.
Maximilian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he finished as Arjay Miller Scholar.
Maximilian worked at HV portfolio company Thermondo while it scaled from 60 to 350 employees. As Managing Director of Thermondo Energy and regional Head of Sales, Maximilian helped grow Thermondo to No. 2 on the 2018 FT1000 list of Europe's fastest-growing companies. Maximilian designed and launched Thermondo 365, Germany's first one-stop heat lease solution, which has brought thousands of energy-efficient heating systems to homes in Germany.
Maximilian is fluent in German, English and Spanish. He is also a less-than-mediocre soccer player and an overly opinionated coffee drinker. He loves hiking, particularly in the Alps.
AT THERMONDO I LEARNED THAT BUILDING A GREAT COMPANY IS A LOT OF FUN BUT ALSO A LOT OF WORK. I ALSO SAW THAT HAVING THE RIGHT, SUPPORTIVE INVESTORS BY YOUR SIDE CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THIS JOURNEY.
IT IS MY GOAL TO BE THAT RIGHT KIND OF INVESTOR FOR OUR COMPANIES TO MAKE THEIR JOURNEY AT LEAST A BIT EASIER.
