HOW IT ALL STARTED

HV first met sennder in the early days of 2017 when the team started out with the idea to use empty bus cargo capacity from companies such as FlixBus to build a cost-efficient parcel network. After speaking to dozens of shippers and carriers, the team soon realized that the road freight opportunity is much bigger than that and pivoted to becoming a full road-freight forwarder in the end of 2017. Using technology to connect large shippers with small carriers, sennder’s growth exploded within only a few months. This didn’t go unnoticed and HV joined the team’s extraordinary journey by leading the Series A in April 2018 together with our friends from Project A. When HV first invested, the team was outgrowing a cohort of young digital road-freight forwarders set out to bring the German logistics industry into the 21st century. Over the course of the next 18 months or so, the team was able to successfully expand into new regions and build a European footprint.

"TO THIS DATE, HV HAS BEEN AN INTIMATE SPARRING PARTNER ON ALL THE TOPICS THAT ARISE WHEN SCALING A COMPANY FROM 30 TO 500 PEOPLE IN ONLY 2.5 YEARS. I HIGHLY VALUE BOTH THEIR CLARITY AND EXPERIENCE ON ALL BUSINESS MATTERS, BUT ALSO AND SPECIFICALLY THEIR EXTREMELY PERSONAL SUPPORT IN GUIDING US AS FOUNDERS THROUGH A ONCE IN A LIFETIME JOURNEY."
