Before Martin Weber co-founded HV, he took a company public as CFO at 30. That experience shaped everything that followed. He grew up in Southern Germany, studied Business Administration in Nuremberg with honours, and started his career in 1994 at Bayerische KBG, the corporate VC arm of a Bavarian bank. The focus back then was decidedly low tech: fashion companies, hotel chains, rail and road transportation, breweries. Digital changed everything. Martin moved into tech, became CFO of Netlife AG, and at 30 delivered the company's IPO, his first taste of what it means to build and scale at the highest level.

At HV, Martin has been involved in over 100 deals, backing companies like Delivery Hero, Groupon, Lazada, Spark Networks, and Global Fashion Group. In 2010, he led HV's transformation into a true partnership, making the firm independent from the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. He has steered fund strategy, investor relations, and capital raising across nine fund generations. Martin transitioned into an advisory role as Founding Partner with the start of Fund IX. His own career started because one entrepreneurial manager at a small, unknown fund convinced him that people matter more than brand.

Twenty-five years later, that conviction hasn't changed.
