The most valuable conversations I have with founders don't happen at board meetings or funding rounds. They happen in the messy middle: when the path forward isn't obvious, when the right hire isn't clear, when the next market feels like a leap. I bring a strategic lens built across McKinsey, growth PE, and a decade of B2B venture to help founders think further ahead and stay oriented on what actually matters as the company scales.
My number one criterion for evaluating a founder is how good they are at attracting exceptional people. Products can be rebuilt, strategies can shift, but the quality of the team compounds over time. The strongest companies I've backed share one thing: a founder who treats talent as the single most important competitive advantage.
The European B2B ecosystem is producing companies that scale globally from London, Berlin, Copenhagen, or Lisbon. Most international investors still underestimate how deep the talent pool is and how sophisticated the companies have become. I've been in this ecosystem for over a decade and I'm still surprised by the quality of what's being built. That conviction is what brought me to HV Capital.
We're at one of those rare moments where the rules genuinely change. The most interesting companies right now aren't just applying AI. They're building things that simply weren't possible before: entire product categories that couldn't exist at a reasonable cost, new ways of making sense of data that used to be impossible to process, business models that couldn't have been built without this technology. And while the US has doubled down on foundation models, Europe has the opportunity to take the best available AI, wherever it comes from, and apply it to the industries where we've always been strong. That intersection of deep industry knowledge and the right AI tooling is where I spend most of my time.
Mina leads growth-stage investing in Enterprise Software, AI, and Fintech at HV Capital. She left Bulgaria on a scholarship at 17, graduated with First Class Honours from LSE, and went on to earn her MBA at Harvard. She spent the past 11 years backing European founders scaling their businesses globally, first in Private Equity and then in Venture Growth. At Palamon Capital Partners, she worked with bootstrapped businesses to inject fresh capital and leadership into their companies and expand through through Europe and beyond. At Dawn Capital, Europe's largest B2B software fund, she led investments including LeanIX (acquired by SAP), Fonoa, Lokalise, and AccessFintech. She started her career at McKinsey & Company where she lived and worked across 10 different countries in Europe, North America, and APAC, focused on strategy and business transformation.
At HV, her portfolio combines deep B2B pattern recognition with the strategic and operational lens of someone who has worked across consulting, private equity, and venture on three continents. Founders who work with Mina get a partner built for the hardest phase of company building: when the decisions between milestones matter more than the milestones themselves. Off the clock: long hikes, too many books, decent cook, two daughters keeping it all in perspective.
